Step 1: Install the Kadence Blocks Plugin

To begin, you'll need the Kadence Block plugin. Here's how to install it:

  • Login to Your WordPress Dashboard: Access your WordPress admin panel.
  • Navigate to Plugins: In the sidebar, click “Plugins” and then “Add New.”
  • Search for “Kadence Blocks“: Use the search bar to find the Kadence Blocks plugin.
  • Install and Activate: Click “Install Now” next to the plugin, and once it's installed, click “Activate.”

​Please note! You do not have to use the Kadence theme in order to use the Kadence Blocks plugin. You can use it with any WordPress block theme.

Add an Accordion Block to a Sidebar Widget

Now, let's embed your Kadence Accordion Block within a sidebar widget:

With the Kadence Blocks plugin activated, you can now create your accordion block:

You can add blocks to a widget just like on a post.

Access Widgets: In your WordPress dashboard, go to “Appearance” > “Widgets.”

Choose a Sidebar Widget Area: On the Widgets page, select the sidebar widget area where you want to place the accordion.

Add the Kadence Accordion block: Find the Accordion block in the same way that you add a block in a post using the WordPress block editor.

Configure Your Accordion: Customize your accordion by adding titles and content to each accordion item. You can create as many items as you need.

Under Appearance > Customize> Posts/Pages Layout, you can choose where you want the sidebar to appear. I have the sidebar on my Archive page as well as my Single Post page. Choose left or right sidebar, and choose the sidebar that you want to show. I'm using Sidebar 2.

Add an Accordion Block to a Post or Page

  1. Edit or Create a Page/Post: Open the page or post where you want to add the accordion block. You can also create a new page by going to “Pages” > “Add New.”
  2. Add a New Block: In the Gutenberg editor, click the “+” button to add a new block.
  3. Search for “Accordion”: In the block search bar, type “Accordion” to locate the Kadence Accordion Block.
  4. Configure Your Accordion: Customize your accordion by adding titles and content to each accordion item. You can create as many items as needed.
  5. Uses for the Accordion: Accordions on a page are great for FAQ sections.

Preview and Publish
